After surviving our little pseudo-winter mountain hike we checked out the Baishuitai Limestone Terraces on the road to Shangrila. The area is set up for tourists and we had to pay an entry fee but the place was 99% deserted. The terraces themselves were quite interesting - smaller than I had hoped, but a cool natural phenomenon nonetheless. From Baishuitai we managed to arrnage a ride with a guy in a black VW Santana for a pretty reasonable price. We spent the afternoon checking out the old town of Shangrila.
