The next day I took a walk up into the hills to check out a village called Tangan, along with a couple of others. The trail into the rice paddies was far from clear but I found my way eventually. I sat and chatted with the old man with the pipe for probably half an hour. He was quite happy for me to take his photo, and unlike the kids he didn't ask for money.
