Contrasts of Australia

Back in June I booked my tickets to fly Auckland to Sydney, have 2 weeks in Australia, then fly onwards to Singapore. Somehow I managed to land in Sydney the exact weekend that the famous Sydney Mardi Gras is on...it was quite colorful and actually fkind of fun...if a little (OK, a lot) dodgy. After Mardi Gras I escaped to the mountains for a few days of hiking and a little less gaiety.
